Easy To Apply Grout System |
MSDS - Download PDF: Part A | Part B Sand Specs In addition to the specifications shown below, other sand sizes such as 20/30 washed, dried and sieved will work as well. All sands should be "washed, dried and sieved" to ensure there are no "fines" in the sand. Sand that has even a low percentage of fines below size 40 will be difficult to remove from the stones during installation. One good source for acceptable sands are pool supply companies which typically carry filter sand with a sieve size of 20 or 22. Other sources include sand blasting supply companies as well as home building suppliers and toy stores that stock sand boxes. For more information on locations or questions about a particular sand, please call our Technical Support team.
Coloring the grout: EcoSystems Grout can be pigmented to achieve a specific color. However, care must be taken to insure that the product to be grouted will not be affected by absorption of the pigment. For porous materials such as flagstone, bluestone, limestone, etc..., it is suggested that a colored sand be used instead of adding pigment to the mixture. A separate test area should be installed to insure the application will be acceptable. For detailed instructions and additional information, please contact our technical support team.
Grout Coverage Chart Example: The product to be grouted is a 4" x 8" brick with a joint depth of 1 1/4 " and a joint width of 1/2 ". (1) EcoSystems Grout kit mixed with (1) 50 pound bag of specified sand and water would cover approximately 43 square feet.
